Keto Broth Canning Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 lbs beef bones
- 2 medium onions, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 2 carrots, chopped optional
- 2 celery stalks, chopped optional
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp whole peppercorns
- 8 cups water
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400F 200C
Arrange beef bones, onions, and garlic on a baking sheet
Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes until bones are browned
Transfer bones, onions, and garlic to a large pot
Add carrots, celery, bay leaves, peppercorns, and water
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 4-6 hours, skimming off any foam that rises to the top
Once the broth is rich and flavorful, strain it through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth
Allow the broth to cool to room temperature
Carefully ladle the broth into sterilized canning jars, leaving about 1 inch of headspace
Wipe the rims of the jars clean, then place lids on top and screw on bands until fingertip tight
Process in a pressure canner according to manufacturers instructions for your altitude
Once canned, store in a cool, dark place for up to a year
When ready to use, heat the broth and enjoy
