Chocolate-Caramel Doughnut Holes
Indulge in the delightful combination of chocolate and caramel with these easy-to-make doughnut holes. They are perfect for a sweet treat
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
In another bowl, combine milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined
Heat vegetable oil in a pot or deep fryer to 350F 175C
Using a small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown about 2-3 minutes
Remove doughnut holes and drain on paper towels
While still warm, roll the doughnut holes in caramel sauce and then in chocolate chips
Dust with powdered sugar before serving
